Welcome Home

Skunk-Truck realized that his real home is not a place; it’s a bushy-tailed red fox. He returns to the spot where he first met Lucy hoping fate will bring them together again. After Lucy lost her family, she swore she would never care for anyone ever again. But she missed Skunk-Truck terribly, so she headed back to the spot where they first met to reminisce about happier times. In the grassy meadow where they played endless games of Moon-Tag they find each other, never to be parted again.

Meet Skunk-Truck

Poor Skunk-Truck was born almost completely blind. But that doesn’t get in the way of his love for adventure. It does, however, cause this furry black and white dynamo to inadvertently destroy everything he touches. Knowing his natural ability for disaster, the Skunk community banished him from their village. Skunk-Truck now spends his days searching for his forever home.

Because a lot of people won't be able to check out my Skunk-Truck & Lucy exhibition, I've decided that I'm going to put the whole show up online. I'm going to post 1 image along with it's story over the next 6 days, so come back often :) Obviously it's not gonna look as good as it does in person and you won't get the full effect of standing in it's glory, but It will still be pretty sweet.

Skunk-Truck & Lucy
Exhibition Dates May 15 - August 11, 2017

A three month special showing of: Skunk-Truck & Lucy. This whimsical show features Donny Foley’s latest series of large scale Word Paintings. Each painting depicts a single story, but together they create one giant story, the tale of Skunk-Tuck & Lucy.

Word Paintings seamlessly combines two of Donny Foley’s favorite forms of creative narrative: story telling and painting. The creation of each piece starts with a painted focal point. Then, the background is formed by hand lettering a story in which the entire painting is based upon. When viewed from a distance a Word Painting is meant to convey a cheery anecdote, but on closer inspection the viewer can see the complex nature of a seemingly simplistic image.
